Information
Electricity generators mostly run on fossil fuels. The cost of running these can be prohibitive, when used in isolation.
So why have a generator linked to a solar system?
solar systems require a reference current to produce electricity. Without a reference current of sorts, the panels cannot generate the energy needed. This is where either a battery-linked system (batteries store energy, and release this energy when required due to grid electricity outages). Depending on the consumption rate of energy, and time of day of demand, the number of batteries required may prove to be too expensive to be feasible for the project. Therefore, we would look at the cost comparison of integrating a generator - which could provide a base reference current during grid outages in day-time (solar generating time), and or if there is a requirement high consumption at night.
